Integrated Project Controlling
The main goal of our Integrated Project Controlling is to free up resources in the client organisation.
When a project has been planned, and all the activities, risks, costs and resources hang together, they have to be managed. Controlling these parameters individually is basically impossible. If the content or timing of one activity is changed, the risks, costs, quality and manning requirements, etc. are also affected. Management must therefore be conducted in an integrated way.
The project manager should focus on his most important tasks
Integrated Project Controlling is a relatively time-consuming task, and one that is given insufficient priority if it is the project manager him/herself who is to drive it. We would even go as far as to say that in major projects the project manager must be prepared to delegate this role in order instead to free up resources for directing the project, handling communication and maintaining the progress of the project. This is the project manager’s most important task, and one that is difficult to delegate.
But it is possible to delegate Project Controlling, which must not, however, be confused with the actual responsibility – which still rests with the project manager. Here we feel able to make a contribution to the project. With our knowledge of processes, tools, communication and leadership, we can support the project manager and make sure that reporting and management are performed in a way that is adapted to suit the needs of both the project and the client.
Integrated Project Controlling in minor projects
In major projects, one or more full-time resources is/are often needed for Project Controlling, but in smaller projects these resources are not, of course, available. However, in order to be able to contribute with our knowledge in these minor projects we have designed a product that we call project start-up.
